Registration FAQs

What is included in the registration fee?

A choice of one of two distances (25 miles or 50 miles), a t-shirt, a goody bag, and access to rest stops.  At the end of the ride, you can enjoy the Thurmont Farmer’s Market and the music of the local band, 5.5 Men.

How much is the registration fee?

The fee is $50 for either ride.

Event FAQs

Who does the Tour de Catoctin benefit?

The event is sponsored by the Thurmont Lions Club. All funds are used to benefit the needs of the community.

What are the start times and the lengths of each ride?

The 50-mile ride will start at 7:30 AM and the 25-mile ride will start at 8:30 AM.

Where do the rides start and end?

The rides start and end at Pavilion B in Thurmont Town Park. The address is: 19 Frederick Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.

Where are the rest stops located and when do they close?

The rest stops will be open for the duration of the rides. They are located at Roddy Road Park, Loys Station Park, and Mt. Tabor Park.

Whom do I call in case of emergency during the ride?

The number to call is 240-578-0435. This will be printed on the bibs as well.

Will first aid be available?

First aid kits will be available at all rest stops.

Where is parking available?

What happens if it rains?

The event is held RAIN OR SHINE.

Are helmets required?

Yes, helmets are required, and it is the law.

What time do events end at Thurmont Town Park?

The Thurmont Farmers Market ends at noon, and 5.5 Men will play until 1:30 PM.

Can I make a donation?

Yes. You may write a check to “TLC Foundation” P.O. Box 306, Thurmont, MD 21788. Please note in the memo area “Tour de Catoctin.” You may also donate via this link and on the day of the ride.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. The Foundation operates as a financially independent extension of the club, and it is registered as a 501c3 charitable organization with the Internal Revenue Service.

Will donors receive a receipt?

Yes, donors will receive a receipt.

Parking is available at Thurmont Town Park.

My plans have changed, and I cannot participate in the event. Can I get a refund?

We are sorry, but refunds will not be issued. Your donation will benefit the needs of the community.
