WHY SHOULD I RIDE IN THIS CYCLING EVENT?
- All funds raised during this event will go directly to the Thurmont Lions Club who in turn, will use those funds to support the Thurmont community through vision screenings assistance, higher ed scholarships, Thurmont Food Bank & other assistance to local citizens in need
- It will be fun, and it is a gorgeous area of Frederick County.
OUR MISSION
- For over 95 years the primary focus of the Thurmont Lions Club has been to make life better for our neighbors by helping those in and around Thurmont! At the same time, we continue to support vision related needs and emergency relief projects around the world.
- The Lions Slogan is Liberty, intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety (LIONS). In addition to promoting our local schools & youth, health and welfare of our local citizens contributing to community-based projects, providing assistance for those most in need in our area and various sight related causes, we also strive to recognize the efforts and time of our area servicemen and women who are defending our freedom and liberty & securing our nation’s safety.
Event Details
- The Tour de Catoctin will take place on SATURDAY 28th.
- The ride will begin at the Thurmont Town Park located at 19 Frederick Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
- You can choose between a 25 mile or a 50 mile route; each route is an approximate estimate.
- Cost of this cycling event is $50 for either distance.
- A colorful event T-shirt is included in the registration fee along with assorted other goodies.
- At the end of the ride, you can enjoy the Thurmont Farmer's Market and music from 5.5 Men, a locally known band
- Cycling packets may be picked up a Pavilion B in the Thurmont Town park on the morning of the ride prior to your cycling start time. We highly recommend that you allow yourself additional time to pick up your packet on the morning of the ride.
- Safety is the utmost importance, riders must wear helmets and ride single file throughout the race.
- Parking will be available in the Thurmont Town Park area.
